What?! Using a Thermal Cooker
to keep something like homemade
ice cream cold??
You bet!!!
The cool thing about Thermal Cookers is that they simply retain the temperature that is in them - hot or cold - for hours!
Our family has a tradition of making yummy homemade ice cream to eat while watching fireworks. How does it keep from melting before the excitement begins? By using the amazing Thermal Cookers!
Read on to see how we do it!
First off, make your homemade ice cream as you normally would, using your favorite recipe and your regular ice cream maker.
Next, pour the finished ice cream into the inner pot of your Thermal Cooker, put the lid on, then put it in the freezer.
We do this the evening before the big night of fireworks, so the ice cream ends up being in the freezer for several hours, getting nice and hard.
Then on the big day, we will take the inner pot out of the freezer and put in in the outer pot. We usually are out and about on other adventures for a few hours before we're ready to settle down and watch the fireworks. When it's time for the big event, we break out our delicious, perfectly scoopable, homemade ice cream and Enjoy!!
And, here's another fun tip. Thermal Cookers are great for keeping cooked hamburgers
